I can Master(s) this

After looking at some photos of the Masters in photo class earlier this week, it made me want to look up some photos on my own. I came across some pictures I really liked. I only wish I was this good at photography! Maybe someday.. Practice makes perfect.

This picture (below) was my favorite. It’s a picture of Bubba Watson who was this years winner of the Masters. I love his white outfit in contrast with the dark background. I also think the lighting is great. There is sunlight hitting his right side which make for a great photo.

The picture below was another picture I really liked. I think this was a great action shot and the photographer really focused on Bubba’s face and follow through swing. My photo teacher is always telling us to get closer! This is a great example of getting close. You can tell it was taken with a long lense because the background is very blurry.

My other favorite picture was when Bubba reacts to winning the Masters. I love how this picture captured the audience’s response when Bubba made the last winning stroke. Bubba, in a sense, melts in this picture when he does win in sudden death.

The Andrew L. Hicks, Jr. Foundation’s Bowling Event

The Andrew L. Hicks, Jr. Foundation hosted a bowling event for underprivileged kids at the Downingtown Bowling Palace on March 10, 2012. Henderson High School volunteers who are a part of the foundation’s Warrior Guide Club volunteered and mentored the kids during the event. About 70 or so children from Chester were present at the event with about 90 high school volunteers. During the event there was bowling (of course) that all the kids participated in. Before feeding the kids and mentors pizza, there was a big ‘dance party’ and all the kids and mentors danced together. They formed a dancing circle and a bunch of kids went into the center and showed off their moves! There were also line dances such as Cotton-Eyed Joe and Electric Slide. Towards the end of the event everyone was given cupcakes for desert. After the event was over the kids got on their designated bus and headed home. It was a really great event and really gave everyone a chance to get to know each other! The Hicks’ Family, who formed the foundation after their son and brother died a year or two ago, were extremely pleased with the event.
